In 2026, SCANPAN proudly celebrates 70 years of craftsmanship, innovation, and dedication to quality cookware. It's a journey that began in 1956 with a pressure cooker lid that became our very first cast aluminum frying pan—and grew into a story of Danish design excellence recognized worldwide. 

Pushing Boundaries Since 1956 

Over the years, we've introduced several industry-firsts that have transformed cookware: our ceramic titanium nonstick coating, our patented rivetless locking handle solution, and cookware free from PFAS of concern—long before it became standard.  

Born from Denmark's golden age of design, our cookware embodies the Danish philosophy of simplicity, elegance, and uncompromising quality that defined mid-century modernism. These principles haven't just survived the decades—they continue to guide everything we create. 

Evolution of a Legacy 

In the vibrant 1960s, SCANPAN marketed its innovative nonstick cookware as "The discerning housewife's favourite kitchenware"—a reflection of its era. A woman's place was in the kitchen, and SCANPAN was there to make her work easier. 

Seven decades later, women at SCANPAN aren't just using our cookware—they're building it. 

Today at our Ryomgård factory, skilled workers transform raw materials into world-class cookware, bringing precision and innovation to a traditionally male-dominated craft. From serving Danish homes to collaborating with professional chefs, we've always pushed the boundaries of design and function. 

What remains unchanged is our commitment to quality. What's evolved is everything else. 

Made in Denmark, Built to Last 

We remain proudly Danish, with all of our nonstick cookware still made in our factory in Denmark. We use recycled aluminum and environmentally conscious methods to create products that meet the demands of today's kitchens while respecting the world we cook in.
